Jan 13, 2019 I am a big fan of the 3M Roloc bristle discs for gasket-bearing surfaces. They leave a very smooth and clean finish without being too aggressive and changing the trueness of the metal. The green grit seems to be the best for most surfaces. My only complaint is that they don't last long enough. You may need two to do an intake manifold.

If the stuff is really stubborn, I'll use the Rolloc discs, but the softest possible so as not to risk making the mating suface uneven from "digging in".
